We are delighted to announce that our group programme, EMBRACE, has officially been re-accredited as a Therapeutic Community by the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Therapeutic Community Accreditation Panel in their Community of Communities programme. This accreditation lasts until 23rd April 2026. Following months of hard work and preparation from group members and staff members, EMBRACE received our best-ever score against the rigorous standards that the College uses to accredit Therapeutic Communities across the UK.

On the day, the group was able to sit with our nervousness and really enjoyed welcoming the review team into our space as members of our community. In the report, the lead reviewer stated that “the community felt relaxed and gave us a warm welcome… The relationality of the group stood out to the review team, members supported each other to stay in the room, and all felt present in group discussions.”

The Therapeutic Community Specialist, who was part of the review team, noted that although EMBRACE meets for less time than most Therapeutic Communities, “we were impressed with what the community was able to offer in that time. It was clear that all members of EMBRACE present on the day valued the community and their relationships with each other.”

We would like to say a huge thank you to the review team, as well as all the group members and staff members whose hard work has made this possible! We’re overjoyed that EMBRACE can continue helping people to give each other support, compassion, and togetherness as part of the Community of Communities.
